I was once in the business community, making quite a lot of money. My wife and I were young (late 20's) and could buy anything we wanted within reason. We couldn't buy yachts or jets, but new cars, etc. - no problem. We never went to church, didn't need God. But there was this nagging feeling of emptiness in my life. Surely I was born for more than this, I thought. One day someone introduced me to Jesus. I immediately accepted Him as Lord and Savior of my life. I became a Christian. Since that day, I no longer have that feeling of emptiness. My life has purpose now. I have a reason for being on this earth that will outlast my life here. Best of all, I know for certain that if I were to die today, I will be in Heaven in an instant.
Would you like to replace that feeling of emptiness with the feeling that you are here on this earth for a purpose?
How can we know for sure? We can look at God's word, the Bible! If you have a Bible, you can find the scriptures we will be looking at and follow along. If not, don't worry you can look them up when you get one.
The first verse we will look at is Romans 3:23; "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
What does that say to you?
Did you notice the word "all"?
Does that include you?
Let's look at another verse Romans 6:23; "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Did you see what the wages are for those (all) who have sinned?
Did you notice the word "gift"?
A gift is something that is free and unearned, isn't it?
Let's look at another verse, John 3:3; "In reply Jesus declared, 'I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.'"
Now look at John 14:6; "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'"
How many ways did he say there is to God?
One way, right?
Did He say no one? That includes you and me!
Now look at Romans 10:9; "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Do you believe Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead?
If so, pray to Him a prayer like this: Dear Lord Jesus; I am sorry for my sins. I am asking you to forgive me, come into my life and be my Lord and my Savior. I believe you died to pay the price for my sins, that you were buried and were raised from the dead on the third day. I will now serve you all the days of my life.
If you confess Him as your Lord, you will be saved! That means that you are a new creation spiritually. You will begin to have a desire to serve Jesus. Your life will begin to change and take on new meaning and purpose. Look at 2 Corinthians 5:15; "And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again."
